Privacy policy

Neopillar is run by [legal name to be added] ("we", "us"), based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions or requests: [contact email to be added].
The short version: we collect what you put into the app so the app can work, we send parts of it to the AI services that do the writing and transcription, we don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and you can delete all of it yourself from inside the app.
What we collect

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics in the app, and we do not collect your location, contacts or photos.
How AI is used
To draft outlines, scripts and captions, to find your golden thread and to describe your voice, the relevant text is sent to Anthropic (the makers of Claude). To turn speech into text, your recording is sent to OpenAI. Under their current terms for business customers, neither uses what we send through these services to train their models. They process it to return a result to us and may keep it for a short period for safety and abuse monitoring.
AI drafts can be wrong. You are always the author and decide what gets published.

Some of these companies are based in, or store data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law provides for, such as the UK–US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
YouTube
Neopillar's YouTube features use YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time in the app (Menu → Platforms), which revokes our access and deletes the stored connection, or from your Google security settings.
Our legal bases
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract): your account, your content, drafting and transcription.
- Your consent: connecting a platform, and notifications. You can withdraw either at any time.
- Our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, controlling costs, and fixing faults.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content for as long as you have an account. Delete your account and everything tied to it is deleted from our database at once: your profile, pillars, ideas, scripts, answers, voice profile, platform connections and feedback. Routine backups held by our database provider roll off within about 30 days. Voice recordings are not kept at all.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and take it elsewhere. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else email [contact email to be added] and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Neopillar is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
